That '70s
Show

That '70s
Show is an American television sitcom that centers on the
lives of a group of teenagers living in the fictional town of Point
Place, Wisconsin from May 17, 1976 to December 31, 1979.
Created by Bonnie and Terry Turner and writer Mark Brazill, it
debuted on the FOX TV network and ran for
eight consecutive seasons, concluding with the 200th and final
episode airing on May 18, 2006.
As with any social group, prominent roles are bound to be
developed. People become known for their behaviour, witty sayings
and personality. There is no better cast (in my opinion) that can
illustrate such a diverse dynamic of friendship. Here's a closer
look at the roles captured on That '70s Show.
Hello
Wisconsin!
Eric
Albert Forman
"The Nice Guy"
Eric is a nice guy at heart. He is also generally geeky, weak, and
somewhat clumsy. He is a smart-aleck teenager with a lightning-fast
wit and a sarcastic and deadpan sense of humor.
Eric is often picked on for his slight stature and other characters
have likened him to "Opie", and Archie Bunker. Other unfortunate
nick names include "Foreplay", "Foreskin", and "Zitty
Stardust".
Donna
Pinciotti
"The Girl-Friend"
Donna is an intelligent, teenager with feminist ideals. She is
outwardly confident and strong, sometimes to the point of coming
across as arrogant or self-righteous.
She has some difficulty expressing her feminine side, because she
views traditional feminine traits as restraining and outdated. She
dislikes skirts, makeup, and dresses, and insists on wearing jeans
at all times.
Steven
Hyde
"The Rebel"
Steven is Eric's best friend. He likes to drink beer, and enjoys
conspiracy theories, especially ones about The Man overwhelming the
people trying to rebel against it.
Hyde despises authority and is rarely interested in getting into a
serious relationship. Though he may seem sarcastic and careless,
there is a mellow, lovable side revealed itself through his shows
of gratitude towards the Formans.
Michael
Kelso
"The Dim-Witted Ladies' Man"
Michael is tall, lanky and long-haired. He is known as the
pretty-boy of the group, coasting through life on his good
looks.
He enjoys a good "burn," a painful humiliation to someone. Although
he screams "Burn!" a lot. His interests include watching Christmas
cartoons, playing with Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, wrestling with
dogs, playing Atari Pong, buying toy dinosaurs, and dreams of being
a spaceman.
Jackie
Burkhart
"The Self-Involved Cheerleader"
Jackie appointed herself as Donna Pinciotti's best friend. She is
rich, spoiled, conceited, irritating, and is never really invited
into the circle of friends - but believes she has a VIP pass into the group because she dates Kelso.
Despite these characteristics, Jackie is popular at school, has
been voted Most Popular and Best Legs, and was the runner-up Snow
Queen.
Fez
"The Foreign Kid"
Fez or Fes which stands for Foreign Exchange Student. He loves
candy and worships Jackie like a queen. Fez is both kind and naive.
He is often picked on by the local bullies, which he is bitter
about.
He is also a bit perverted. Eric once called him "a sick bastard".
Fez is also quite goofy, charming and has been labeled as "Suave
and Silky".

Elements
of the Show
The show gained
recognition during its first season for providing a bold
retrospective of a decade full of political events and
technological milestones that have dramatically shaped
today's world.
The show tackled significant social issues of the times, such as
feminism and progressive sexual attitudes and the reaction of the
Greatest Generation to their burgeoning influence, the economic
hardships of recession, mistrust in the American government among
blue-collar workers, teenage drug use, and developments in
entertainment technology, from the television remote to the video
game Pong.

I agree – Hyde is a pretty cool guy. I love his hair. Haha.
Though, my fave character on the show isn’t part of the main cast. Rather, it’s Bob Pinciotti. There’s just this funny characteristic about him. He’s such a lovable, funky father.
